Whitley Warriors 4 - 8 Durham Wasps:
Attendance: 2,300

Well over 2,000 fans from the hockey hotbeds of Durham and Whitley Bay descended upon the Hillheads Road rink on Sunday 4th May to see what turned out to be a cracking game of hockey by the former Durham and Whitley legends.

It was an encounter which saw Durham and Whitley neck-and-neck for much of the game – Wasps coming back from behind to storm ahead 8-3 in the third period with a sterling performance from Stephen Foster in the Durham goal to keep Whitley at bay. Warriors grabbed a consolation goal in the dying minutes from a penalty shot, and though the result belonged to Durham, the night without a doubt belonged to everyone.
